Question — I have run across two different symbols for the Chinese zodiac character of the dog. I have attached the one from your page and one from another. Could you please explain the difference to me? (Tory B., USA).
Answer — The symbol from the other site ( ) is the Chinese ideogram representing "dog" as an animal. The symbol from my site ( ) is the Chinese astrological ideogram representing the YEAR under the Sign of the Dog. To understand this difference, think of the word "fish" and the astrological sign "Pisces", or the word "archer" and the astrological sign "Sagittarius".
