Do a good job
If you're unemployed, it's obvious that you should try hard to find a job as soon as possible, because work provides you with money in the surest way. If you already have a job, do it with all the enthusiasm and all the motivation that you're capable of, even though it doesn't excessively please you; it's this enthusiasm and this motivation that will open the doors to a quick promotion or will favor the increase of your clientele.
If possible, don't neglect working over-time or doing little jobs that you could find here and there. "He who does not bend to pick up a needle does not deserve to find a pound", so goes an English proverb. Look up job offers in classified ad columns in newspapers or elsewhere.
