It's the position of the Sun in the Zodiac at the moment of your birth that determines your astral sign. For instance, if the Sun occupied the Cancer section of the Zodiac when you came to the world, your astral sign is Cancer — in other words, you're Cancer.

However, the Zodiac only has 360 degrees whereas a year can have 365 days (normal year) or 366 days (leap year); moreover, the speed of the Sun's move is irregular. It's why the Sun does not always enter the various sections of the Zodiac exactly at the same dates. There may then be a discrepancy of one or even two days. Consequently, if you were born on a day which was at the limit of two contiguous zodiacal sections, it's possible that you belong to one sign rather than to the other.
Our calculator underneath, covering the period from 1900 through 2025 AD, indicates your exact astral sign according to your date of birth.

If you happen to notice differences between our calculator and other sources, rely entirely on our indications for they're rigorously precise. Indeed, most of other calculators only give approximate results according to the average dates of the Sun's entries into signs. But our calculator takes into account all variations which may occur from one month to another or from one year to another. For instance, the Sun most frequently enters the Pisces section on February 19, but it did it on February 20 in 1904, and on February 18 in 1969. Another example, the Sun most frequently enters the Cancer section on June 22, but it did it on June 21 in 1971, 1991, 1993, etc.
