The twelve Animal Signs
for Women
|
Rabbit (Cat) woman
Her productive capacities
The Cat woman is invaluable in work. Whatever field of activity she may find herself in, her competence and sense of responsibility are well appreciated by both her superiors and peers, all the more as she is ever willing to learn and displays unlimited enthusiasm. Knowing how to handle the most difficult situations, she never allows herself to be discouraged by the multiplicity or diversity of her duties. Whatever she has to do, she will see it through - be it teaching, cooking, running a hotel, keeping a shop, preparing drugs, selling life insurance, writing books, or looking after old people or handicapped children. Secretary or cashier, tourist guide or post-office employee, primary school teacher or baby-sitter, she is everywhere looked up to as irreplaceable. She is particularly successful with children, who do not resist her gentleness and solicitude.
But despite her tremendous capacity and earnestness in work, this character generally contents herself with a subordinate role, preferring to receive instead of giving orders. If necessary, the position of an éminence grise would suit her well. It is perhaps out of modesty, and certainly not out of passivity or fear of responsibilities, that she adopts such a self-effacing attitude. A Cat woman who is willing to show ambition and aggressiveness is an extreme rarity indeed; but this one is perfectly able to reach the highest peaks of success and force the admiration of the most misogynous men.
Intelligent, sharp-minded, charming, well at ease in society, unassuming yet sophisticated when she desires to be so, the native is very much sought after by public men - politicians, prominent executives, sport champions, movie or theater stars, and the like. They wish to marry her because she can be a marvelous hostess, greatly enhance their luster by being quietly at their side, and share their limelight without trying to steal it from them in any way. She is quite willing and happy to play such a role, sincerely believing it to be an honorable and useful career.
For all her propensity towards selfishness, the average Cat is essentially made to be of service to others. This predisposition, surprising as it is, offers her a large array of possibilities of choice. She is gifted for doing successfully any job in such fields as range from medical or paramedical professions to social careers. Her dedication and especially her genuine sympathy, even emphathy, help her make wonderful contacts and achieve miraculous results. Other people's moral or physical miseries often act as a stimulant, inciting her to do much more than what is normally required of her.
An accomplished aesthete, she has every chance to shine in all occupations that demand good taste and an acute sense of beauty. She makes her name as a dress designer, milliner, antiquary, taxidermist, writer, or painter. No interior decorator could do better than she, for she has an infallible flair for the right setting which will please and suit those who commission her. Her qualifications are best exploited in art editing, environment protection, and all spare-time activities. Whatever the circumstances, sensitivity is always the hallmark of all her creations.
Having a deep horror of debt, this female is usually good with money. For this reason she has the same economical virtues and financial competence as her Rat sister. She feels very much at ease in bank management or brokerage. It must be due to exceptionally adverse circumstances that a Cat woman can go broke.
But in spite of her fine abilities, personal achievement does not seem to be her only or ultimate objective. While pursuing her career, she does not ignore her work fellows and shows a genuine interest in promoting them at the same time as herself. If she participates wholeheartedly in trade-union activities, it is because she is truly dedicated to collective welfare.
Surprisingly enough, this highly successful woman almost invariably nurtures a secret wish - to be able to stay at home and do what she feels like and when she feels like - however great the glory of her professional life may be. In her heart of hearts she loves nothing better than having a lot of time to dawdle, read, listen to music, keep a diary, daydream, or simply brood and brood and brood. Her contemplative nature, coupled with her weak will, can do her great harm if she yields to it.
